Summer

The area has plenty to do for the summer too. Mountain holidays in Morzine are very popular with the French and now others are realising how beautiful this area is and what a choice of activities there are. The lifts are open for June, July & August and you can walk or bike down from the top. There are some beautiful places to walk, some only accessible in the summer, for example Le Mines D’Or, which feels undiscovered, with no sign of winter skiing. However you can also find Refuges offering wonderful lunches as you explore!

The GR5 long distance Alpine hiking path passes through the Morzine & Portes du Soleil area and so is well marked and walks can be planned around this.

Morzine is the mountain biking capital of Europe, and the town buzzes with activity. There are other outdoor adventures such as Paragliding, Canyoning, White Water Rafting, High-Rope Parks, horse riding, and the thrill of Fantasticable.

There is swimming in the lakes at Montriond and les Gets. Morzine also has a fantastic open air 50m pool.
